Sustainability consulting/future
Hi all,
I'm starting FT at a Tier 1/Tier 2 firm in a major US city and I'm pretty excited. Like most starting analysts, I'm coming in as a generalist, and I'm looking forward to doing that. However, my undergrad degree is/was focused on the intersection of business and environmental sustainability, and although I'm looking forward to the generalist model, I know that longer term I'd like to do work in this space. I know that nobody is gonna hire an expensive consulting firm to advise them on CSR/sustainability strategy, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with working in some kind of environmentally-related field or had advice on career moves for that kinda stuff. My plan now is to get an MBA (I don't have a BBA so I'd like to have some sort of business degree) and, further down the line, move into some sort of corporate sustainability role or work for a larger nonprofit/the UN. Just looking for any advice or hear about anyone's experience with the same sort of interests. Thanks!
