Swire Properties Interview

Anyone have any experience/ knowledge about Swire Properties? Outside of the fact they are a HUGE Asian conglomerate, I couldn't seem to find much on the US side of their operations.

Side note
They developed a Master Plan community in Miami for $1.1 Billion equity, ultimately no debt. Retail 97% leased, residential around 50ish% around April '17.

They have US operations? Didn't know that.

Read a summary of the Asian Saga by James Clavell to know their full history in brief. Rivals with Jardines Matheson, huge interests in travel, tourism and trade. Hotels and real estate too.

Ok, I don't know much about Miami RE. But these guys are huge. Lots of foreigners though, so I guess you can safely assume the usual RE questions.

Culture wise, similar to Asian BB (at least in HK). Long hours which I typically don't see in Western RE.

I think their primary focus in Miami would be in luxury properties-cum-hotels. Maybe Anbang's Western strategy may be a good proxy of the kind of activity you can expect from Swire in USA.

Excellent, thank you very much for the info. From the few threads I've found online, their interviews have a few case studies and can be intense. They developed the mixed use Brickell City Center, mastering planning a whole community within Miami. If that is a starting point for Western operations, would be an fantastic company to get in ground level.
