Switching to finance- St. John's University

Hello, I am currently going into my second year as a Biomedical science major but realized that I want to go into finance (ideally a job like IB or equity research that pays well). After reading some forums I realized St. John's apparently sucks for finance so I am a little stressed out about my options.
People seem to suggest transferring to NYU but I'm not exactly sure I can get in, I have a 3.9 GPA but I have no extracurriculars (was hard enough balancing work and 18 credits per semester).
So my other option is Baruch. Once again, after reading forums on here, it seems Baruch sucks for IB, equity research, etc.
So what would you do if you were me. Also if I can get any tips on how to reach my goal that would be great. Thank you!

Tbh I would say stay in your school. I went through SA recruiting this year and I don’t really think the whole concept of target and non target matter as much as most people think they do. Just put yourself out there. Attend the webinars they host and the networking sessions. Join a finance club or something. Just focus on building your network or resume to make you a more competitive candidate. Goodluck!!!

Agreed with top comment. OP just network, network, network. I’m a Baruch grad and it was tough some of my colleagues broke into IB for those that wanted it but even if NYU had OCR you’d have to network I assume. The equalizer here is that the more you put yourself out there and track your emails the more you can convert to interviews. Listen to the podcasts as motivation on WSO youtube for non-targets that got offers. You’ll see how important networking truly is and building relationships. Wish you well on what you decide to do!
