Systems Integration/IT Consulting->Management Consulting

Right now I'm considering an offer in systems integration vs. a management consulting offer from a small boutique firm. The SI offer is from Accenture. Which would be more valuable if later I apply to MBB, the actual management consulting experience or the big brand name? What about applying to MBA programs?

ACN SI = crap.

Ask around and see where alums of the smaller firm have ended up..to do this use linkedin..if they're placing in better consulting firms or good MBA programs, well then you have your answer.

In my experiecne, SI work is very low class and highly unrespected among MBB and the top MBA programs

System integration people make it to M7 MBAs, do a LinkedIn search for that as well while you are looking up your boutique. Once you get into a decent school, MBB is not going to harass you about it. Heck I know people from BB back office IT going to MBB after M7. But do understand that system integration has much lower bar of entry, so not all of them will go to (or even pursue) a top MBA.
