Deutsche vs. BNP Paribas - research analyst ?
Got two grad job offers for (macro) research in Deutsche and BNP Paribas in London. Wondering which to take. I enjoy the macro stuff and both are in that field so no differences there. Any opinions on prestige, work-life balance, etc? Loved BNPP culture when I worked there as an intern but know less about deutsche other than 'not a BB' - but neither's BNPP.
Oh and I should mention - probably hoping to hop over to buy-side like everyone else in a few years
What degree are you coming out with?
Also, I'd go with BNPP - you're familiar with the firm and it seems you like it there. DB is a BB and more of a "Wall Street" bank, but the company has some serious clouds over its head and BNPP is no slouch.
Economics from oxbridge
And thank you very much for the advice - I appreciate it. I did enjoy BNPP and it currently seems like the better choice
Haven’t read BNP’s macro stuff but i’ve found DB’s macro research very informative (think it’s Jim Reid / Peter Sidorov research that i’ve read). DB put out solid macro research during the beginning of the pandemic.
