Taking Models and Other Learning Materials From Internship
I end my internship in 2 weeks and want to take some of the models and other training materials with me. What is the best way to go about doing this?

Personally haven’t tried it but saw someone mention it elsewhere...but you could use a gmail account write a draft email attach the files you want then log into that gmail and download those attachments on your personal computer.
Don’t know if this would alert compliance or not though.
Also could just ask your boss for permission.
No way, don’t try and take anything from internship! Serious implications
Don't be an idiot. If you seriously want the models.. print them out twice - one in presentation format and one with formulas shown. If you can't figure it out from there the models themselves wont help you.
I took all my models, case studies, etc from my internship at a PE firm. I asked my boss first and since they were no longer using the case study for potential hires it was fine. Models and pitch decks I had were not proprietary. Just ask and if they say yes you can email the shit to your personal email account
Sounds like a no name rinky-dink shop. You do realize that before you get a data room/CIM, corporate or real estate focused, doesn't matter, your firm agrees not to share or reproduce any of that information? In fact it even extends to analysis that is prepared by your firm with that information.
I can assure you anyone doing $100MM deals would fire you for this kind of offense.
Big prestige guy over here. Lol I stated the models and pitch decks I had were not proprietary, hence why they are case studies the firm would give in interview process. That agreement is called a CA lil nuts and I am quite aware of the process but thank you for your concern. Very nice to spread your wisdom.
At the end of my internship they said no forwarding of information to personal emails, and that compliance would be monitoring outbound traffic. Just print it out, better than nothing and certainly better than breaking the rules and inevitably getting caught
I would seriously question your competency if you don't walk away with some models.
No one really cares that much, and it is the inputs that matter. The compliance is all shit that is supposed to scare you. The gmail trick seems like a good one, could see webmail working well too if you can access it from your home computer. If you get caught, just play dumb... "well officer, I didn't know I couldn't do that."
Nobody thinking about using a usb drive to just move them over?
I think taking the learning materials, depending on what they are, would probably be okay. I'm not going to say don't take the model, but just understand that there is a risk. If you feel that you may get valuable knowledge out of reverse engineering it on your own time then it might be worth taking it. If it is just going to sit in a file and you're never going to open it again then it probably isn't worth it.
