Hi - I am working in ER and recently found out about a program that can help me with anxiety issues. It will be 8 week long program and will take out 2 hours (11am to 1pm so including "lunch" hours) each week. I am a bit hesitant to disclose my anxiety issues to my boss due to stigma but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I should approach this. Am I obligated to tell my boss what the issue (anxiety) is? Unfortunately the program is a group therapy so there is not much flexibility around scheduling. Thanks guys.

It largely depends on your company/work demands. If it is possible, you better be giving 110% to your work and making a solid case that you are exceeding expectations at work.
Yep, totally agree! Taking an hour for needed medical treatment is absolutely a huge favor by the firm, and puts you in the firm's debt. You better be working your butt off to show your boss how truly grateful you are!
