Tansferring from Consulting to S&T? Is it possible?
Hey guys:
is it possible to transfer from management consulting to sales and trading? (or ibanking)?
If i get an internship in consulting the summer after my junior year in college (I missed deadlines for i banking internships at my school), can i still get i banking for full time offer after my senior year?
thanks!

Consulting to Sales/Trading through MBA? (Originally Posted: 03/25/2008)
Hi everyone,
There's a fair few people on here studying MBA's/working in Sales so hope you can help. I work for Accenture in the management consulting practice and want to work in Sales. I've been here about 1 1/2 years and am planning on doing an MBA in another few years with a view to doing this.
I know it would be fairly possible to go in to M&A through this route but do many people leave MBA's for sales and trading?
Secondly, the school I was looking at is Insead which although top 10, a lot of people said is no good as it's only 1 yr and I should go to the US. Any thoughts?
I myself will probably be following your route. I do know someone who worked for ACN (not sure SI&T or MCIM), then did 2 yr MBA in Duke and went to S&T in a bulge bracket. Once you've been through a top MBA, it should not really be an issue unless you want prop desk in GS or some fancy hedge fund.
Which stream of MCIM are you in?
