Telling my ex MD I was fired

Hi guys, need some advice. A few years ago I was fired from my BB due to a pretty silly compliance issue. Now I had spent 3 years at this BB - 2 in the first team before I was transferred to a different coverage. While I’m sure my new team is familiar with the reason I was let go (and were sympathetic) I’m not sure how many of the MDs in my old team were told. And I didnt kept in touch.
After five years now I’m going to be reconnecting with one of the MDs (from my first team) for a potential role at his BB (diff from the one I was at). I’m wondering if I should bring this up to him? I usually just spin a different reason as to why I left my Bb when I interview but I like this guy and I don’t want him to think little of me for not being transparent esp if he decides to call up a MD from my second team. What do you alll say? If you agree with me please share input on how should I address this. I’ve done a lot since being fired - diversified my experience at some good places and then went to one of the best grad schools in the world...I want to be transparent but don’t want to hurt myself too much
