Terminated on U4 Questions
I'm hoping someone has the ability to shed some light on the current situation I'm in or perhaps knows a person or firm that would make sense for me to contact.
Was terminated (fired) by my old firm for "failure to meet performance standards" as it says on my U4. This is however not exactly true: my performance on my on desk duties were fine but I had not followed the correct procedures for trading small sums in my personal account (i.e I did not get the required authorizations) and this fact was used as the basis for "failing to perform"
I am currently not in the industry anymore, moved to another industry since, but I may wish to come back to it in the future.
I just have very basic questions such as:
1.) how may this affect future employment
2.) is there space to improve this situation, if so how?
3.) would litigation be able to do anything in this situation?
4.) this was for a BB US firm... in the worst case that this seriously restrict ability to work at US BBs ...would this also affect working for no-american banks in say UK or Europe? i.e is the U4 irrelevant in other regions.
