The basis of the test was people complained that their phones bent in their pockets. The couple of of instances reported where this happened were from as little as 18 hours in a pocket.

Grand total of 9 complaints out of 10 million sold...is it delicate? Sure. But why the fuck would you treat it like that?

The one guy who specifically referenced it being in his front pocket also had it in there while driving and getting in/out of the car, and then hours of dancing at a wedding apparently, while wearing a suit. Any well-tailored suit pockets are going to cut it close, and tighter jeans will too. I don't even keep my phone in my front pockets in either of those situations, because I can feel the force when I move around. Basically your leg acting as a compression lever on the phone.

Just use common sense. Wouldn't deter me. A 5/5S will bend too if you mistreat it enough, seen it personally.

I have a Note II and I'm almost sure my next phone will have a physical qwerty keyboard. Perhaps even a slider.

Have you given the new Blackberry some thought? Other than Apple fanboys it seems to be getting good reviews.

I want to like it but there are a few issues for me:

The phone seems like it would not work well in a pocket with the sharp corners and square shape. This coming from a guy with a Samsung Note II.

The other thing is BBRY's app store seems really weak compared to the Google store. I very much like the Android OS as well. I would get a BBRY before I'd ever get a baby boomer / hipster-fanboy iPhone though haha.

I want to see one in person but I know no one I work with or hang out with will buy one.

Alright, I didn't get home last night until midnight so here are my impressions 9 hours after picking it up (8 of which I was sleeping. Here's my average dude review vs. all the techy bullshit you read on business insider or tech crunch.

  1. It looks a lot better than the Iphone5. I got the space grey. Its rounded all of the way around which I definitely like more than the hard edges. Plus, its brand new so it looks a lot better than my beat to shit iphone 5.

  2. Size. 4.7 is a nice size. Fits in the hand nicely, all of the buttons are on the sides now so you don't have to reach to the top. I can see how if you're a girl sub 5'5, this phone probably seems fucking huge. I don't think they could have gone any bigger with it. It is significantly bigger than its predecessors.

  3. Screen. Definitely more clear than your previous versions. Very sharp, and very quick. No screen jumps. Not to say there won't be after the next software update. You could definitely watch a movie on this screen. Its like the screen width just hit the threshold to watch a movie without having to squint.

  4. Camera is significantly upgraded. Takes great pics. Probably the most important thing to me because I literally stopped taking pics on my 5 BC the camera got so scratched / shitty over the course of 2 years.

  5. Bendability. OK, I'm not sure what the fuck these guys are talking about. You would have to exert extremely unreasonable force to bend this thing. Like you would have to try to break it.

Apps and software seem pretty much the same, nothing too crazy. I don't get worked up with all of the bullshit little stuff. At the end of the day, all of the phones are very similar and its important to get what you like. The 6 should definitely be able stand toe to toe with any other phone out there.

So.. in summary, it's a clear upgrade relative to previous iPhone models but still not superior to the broader market.
