On the contrary this is a very important question. This can shape your future. Think about it. As a young person would you rather be the hip and cool at the expense of your possible future. Or would you rather be a square as a child and set up your future as a successful, rich and hip guy.

What else do I have to do? We had the company Christmas party. I gave away over 600k. I deserve a drink or 10.

I think you need another drink.

Mark Manson from the huffington post wrote something about this, its actually a great article but since I'm new, I can't post it (links don't work fml). He argues the most important question in life isn't about what pleasures you want, but more what pain you want to sustain- everyone wants a bright future, a great paying job, but at the end of the day it's about whether you can handle the hours, the abuse, the yelling, the lack of sleep.

"If you want the benefits of something in life, you have to also want the costs. If you want the six pack, you have to want the sweat, the soreness, the early mornings, and the hunger pangs. If you want the yacht, you have to also want the late nights, the risky business moves, and the possibility of pissing off a person or ten.

If you find yourself wanting something month after month, year after year, yet nothing happens and you never come any closer to it, then maybe what you actually want is a fantasy, an idealization, an image and a false promise. Maybe you don't actually want it at all.

So I ask you, "How are you willing to suffer?"

Because you have to choose something. You can't have a pain-free life. It can't all be roses and unicorns.

Choose how you are willing to suffer."

I looked it up, I thought it was actually an excellent article, very well put. Not exactly related to OP's alcohol fueled thread, but that's neither here nor there. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-manson/the-most-important-question_b…
