The quick switch

Looking for opinions.

I just joined a pretty decent firm as a 3rd year analyst about 6 weeks ago after leaving a small boutique where I worked for 2 years. I got a call from a headhunter last week who said a top BB is looking for senior analysts in the group I am interested in. Since then I have interviewed with the group and it went well, so I suspect I might be made an offer.

What is the view of someone who jumps that quickly? I have a decent story for switching (I walked into a group with a lot of internal issues that I was not made aware of), but I'm worried it will still look pretty back on my resume and will hurt me in firther career pursuits.

Don't even mention it on your resume. 6 weeks is way too short, will make you look like a job hopper, just leave it off completely and don't mention it in your interviews.
------------ I'm making it up as I go along.

You're welcome to leave it off. That said, you'll have to come clean once you sign the employment documentation for future employers and it will definitely come up in a background check, so you'll be putting yourself slightly at risk. I don't think anyone would rescind an offer over a short stint at a company, but it will anger them that they didn't get full disclosure. If your current job truly is miserable, you should walk out the door and take this new offer. While it looks very bad, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.
