Things to Do/See in Pittsburgh

Planning a trip to Pittsburgh, probably some time in August, any Pittsburgh monkeys got some recommendations for watering holes, unique things to do/see, places to eat?

Yeah, from what I've seen there isn't a whole lot to check out. Kind of want to see one of the old steel mills if you can tour those, not sure what else there is. I know there's a big Polish historic area, so trying to get my fill of pierogis and good beer.

Just head to the strip district during the afternoon on a nice day. It's a good area to walk around to shop, eat, drink, etc... Southside at night if you want to party or even Lawrenceville. Shadyside is a very nice area as well but not top of the list for nightlife.

These places are easy to navigate, just one street to walk down (for the most part) with bars/restaurants.

I'd also add Primanti's for a classic as well as Aiello's white pizza (has to be the white pizza). Not sure about Bakery Square, but Market Square might be better for food options. Girasole is good Italian food too.

For sights, I'd check out Mount Washington and the strip district. Pirates game (although they suck) would be fun and it's a super nice ball park. South Side is sometimes fun for bars, sometimes you'll see Aaron Donald, but usually someone will just try to fight you for whatever reason.

They'll be in town when I'll be there so I'll try to check that out. The views facing the city from the stadium look insane.

Definitely go to a game at PNC, the team sucks but the park is awesome and beers are cheap. Fat heads is an interesting spot for a beer and a sandwich. I’m pretty sure there’s a nice high endish bar at the top of the incline at mt Washington. Definitely a lot of cool dive bars if that’s your vibe. I have a ton of family in Pittsburgh and visit frequently
