This Cycle of PE Recruiting
Hey guys just curious here on a few things. First what was everyone’s experience like this last recruiting cycle for the larger PE firms? How competitive? How many spots? Why did or didn’t you get a spot?
Second, what happens when you go into recruiting with nada in deal flow. What if all your pitches go down the toilet and you’re the ass with no deal experience whatsoever. Are you then toast? Or.. is/was there a saving grace?
Third, tests. I know many firms have various IQ tests they make you take. Who did? Could you prep or no? How were the modeling tests? Can you prepare for them?
Fourth, what did you have to provide and what was done with what you provided? Do they reach out to the references that are your co-workers? I would assume that Piss off the director who you told that you were sick for recruiting days. Did they ask for transcripts and or test scores?
Lastly, what were the biggest take-a-ways? I heard recruiting was over before Christmas and that they filled most the spots. Is off cycle as hard as recruiting for banking full time? Is it less terrible than people make it out to be?
Thanks in advance!
Also I know there are similar threads. This pertains to the recruitment cycle that ended/is still going on, which to the best of my knowledge there isn’t a thread on.
Cheers mates!
