This is a Rant

I will make no apologies, equivocations or reservations, this is a grumpy man rant. It's not world hunger or anything, not going to change the world, it is just that......

....I have had it up to here with the stupidity of those working within the public facing sectors!

I (we) work with the best and brightest on a daily basis but when you go to your local bank branch, to rent a house, set up Sky TV it all goes to shit! The ineptitude with which those that work in those sectors carry themselves is flabbergasting. There is no reasoning with the spineless wank with whom you're likely speaking. He is given no flexibility to alter his process when faced with contention of his circular requirements, his box ticking exercise or the obvious flaw of his frivolous documents and exercises; which only goes to perpetuate his amoebic state.

What happened to common sense, and whose idea was it to replace it with bureaucracy and cretinous drones?

Cheers for the outlet, I think thats all for now.

Liability. No one actually wants to make a decision or put their name on anything they do. Workers would rather simply plead ignorance and kick it up the chain so they can say they did the correct thing to keep their jobs. It is truly infuriating how worthless it is to deal with most customer service departments and part of the reason why I am fiercely loyal to any company that actually has decent service... which is very, very rare.

I don't know if this was intentional, but you did a good job of summarizing a good deal of Adam Carolla's "In 50 Years, We'll All be Chicks" book from a few years back.

If you haven't read it, pick it up.

Haven't read it, but may try to stay clear so I dont get too enraged.

Glad to see it's not just me chaps

Also, government workers are doing their best to maintain the status quo and bank the sick/vacation days. My family knows a young woman that take 2 months vacation per year. Imagine working with her and then being informed that she'll be out of office for the next 60 days. Don't get me wrong it's a great deal for her. It'll suck for you when you get a temp with the industry knowledge of a lobster to handle your urgent request. This theme also applies to strategic private industries with a lot of government oversight.

Which company are you talking about here? The US Government?

Oh no, certainly not isolated to one firm or organisation, this is a ubiquitous and far from ephemeral trend in the western world, to me that is.

Shit, being smart sucks, let's all smoke a bunch of pot on the reg. Then we'll be able to put up with those sub-100 IQ douchebags that suck at their jobs.

Me personally, I thank god (not "the" god, just a god if one exists) every day that there are people out there willing to live at or near poverty so I can get my burger n fries relatively easily with little to no work done by me.
