Thoughts on Consulting/PE recruitment at the Schwarzman Scholars Program?
Hi all,
I have been working at MBB BO in India, focusing on PE/HF/SWF. I have considerable experience in the social sector since college and while my time at MBB. I am considering applying for the Schwarzman Scholars Program in the 2021 application (2022 intake). I would love to know your opinions on my chances with getting into the program and Consulting/PE recruitment prospects in SE Asia. Thanks in advance!

do some linkedin search with the keyword Schwarzman scholars and the company you are interested in. I personally noticed quite a number of people going into consulting after the program, but they also came from a target undergrad before the program. not entirely sure if the program helped a lot.
I did do a LinkedIn search, a lot of people do get a consulting gig. The trend is mostly people from 'Wester Universities' get it. Also, people who get into the program have done significant social work (saving 1000 children in Africa or starting a foundation that serves in six continents) at an average age of 22. I don't understand how to break into the program.
As far as recruitment is concerned, can I strike a deal with MBB where I work to recruit me after the program, if I get in.
if you are trying to transition from BO to FO in your current MBB office by leveraging the program, maybe the best is to ask people in your office? but in terms of recruiting for other MBB offices in Asia, as far as I know, Tsinghua is definitely a target and is very prestigious. MBB in China almost only hire students from Tsinghua and three other Chinese universities. also try reaching out to people in the program from your country, feel like they are the only ones who know how recruiting works there since it is kind of a niche program.
