Thoughts on interview..

Right...had an interview.

Am really unsure how it went,,,,interviewed with two guys and HR lady.

First guy interview went amazing with, got on really well. He asked a few questions and said to me he was genuinely impressed during the interview, and spoke to me a few times as if I had the role.

Joined half way through the interview, by the PM who was slightly above the guy I got on really well with. He seemed like a fair guy, but was clearly very very busy and did not have the time to be interviewing me. He set about destroying everything I said about my investment strategies. I offered a defence but did not argue directly and accepted the points he made to be diplomatic.

He left after a while and continued interviewing with the other guy who continued to get on really well with. He went to ask a question and stopped before could answer so i could ask him some questions.

Really unsure how the interview went as it was a story of absolute extremes. Given that I got on really well with the guy who interviewed me for the majority of the time I dont know how this will work out at all.

When I asked HR lady when I would hear back she said given that I could start earlier than other candidates they are interviewing, it could be sooner than initially thought.

Any thoughts...would love to ge the role, but am somewhat nervous now!

cheers

Don't over analyze it and make sure to send thank you emails, especially to the guy you hit it off with.

cheers bro, i guess this was a silly post really. I am over analyzing like you say, just it would mean a lot to get this break.

sent thank you emails already, 2 out of 3 replied.

It's ok, everyone analyzes how things went the second they walk out of the interview room. Interviews at banks are so arbitrary now a days, its really tough to tell what they're looking for. For all you know, they might have structured the interview that way to see how you handled pressure situations. Sounds like you did fine, and if you have that one guy really pull for you then thats a good thing.
