Thoughts on multifamily SBL underwriting position in NYC
what are your thoughts on being a FHA multifamily SBL underwriting analyst at a company like jll, cbre, CW in NYC?
Loans are 1-5m so I would have to guess you only see very small properties and outer borough properties in NYC. most borrowers would be individuals / "mom/pop" investors I imagine.
is it a good position, are the exit opportunities very limiting, etc? would it be difficult to transition into an equity role?
how easy or difficult is it to transition into a bigger/ more complex lending position at a lifeco or bank from there?
I don't know much about the SBL lending industry in NYC so any thoughts on if it would be a good position career wise would be very helpful.
anyone?

Bumping this because I have an interview coming up for this same position at one of the companies the OP mentioned.
Does anyone have any advice on this?
^Same... bump
As far as I'm concerned none of these companies have this arm. Which one are you talking about.
CBRE does. I remember seeing the posting a couple months back.
good catch.
I wonder how the fees are and the volume they do.
As an aside to Dino, it is always good to be a correspondent broker, one with a product to sell sell besides being middlemen.
