Thoughts on the new M&I Investment Banking Interview Guide 3.0

Hey monkeys,

I'm sure some of you have seen the new investment banking interview guide (version 3.0) that M&I released last week. It's currently on sale for 30% off, and I'm considering purchasing it (even though I have already purchased the WSO and Vault guides).

I was hoping to hear some thoughts from anybody who has already purchased this guide, plans on purchasing this guide, or has used an M&I guide in the past.

What do you guys think? Is it a worthy investment for a student rapidly approaching recruiting season?

Thank you for any thoughts.

all the questions are still there, but this once includes actual explanations of the concepts. the old guide just spouted off the answers, and if you didn't understand them, you were shit out of luck.

the guide is definitely an improvement. if you understand it through-and-through, you will be prepared for even the most technical interviews at a place like BX. i've been in those interviews, and this guide covers almost everything i heard in them. that said, it's definitely no replacement for actually being a business school student who knows his shit cold, but you'll definitely know enough to land a job at any firm in the industry.

Thank you for all of your thoughts. I've went ahead and purchased it, and am liking what I see so far.

I understand where couchy is coming from when he says that a "giant stack of questions" is a simpler way to do things, but I do think that the way that the new BIWS guide is approaching interviews will allow the reader a little more flexibility when it comes to answering questions.
