Upcoming corporate finance interview at an investment bank with a divisional CFO. I'm going to wear a dress shirt and suit jacket but not sure if I should wear a tie. The guy I'm interviewing with is still WFH so I'm afraid he's going to show up in a t-shirt and make me look like an idiot.

I don't see how a tie can hurt.
Even if he is in a t shirt - you should probably wear a tie. It's not that much extra effort to put on or wear.
"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee
I would wear a tie 100% sure. You are the one who must make a good first impression, not him
