Time to Panic?
I currently have not even been offered an interview at any of the 25+ banks I have applied for. When is it time to panic? I go to a non-target school but I have high GPA and IB internship experience at a small boutique.

Most banks won't start reaching out until late July, early August. No need to panic yet.
I see many people getting their first rounds and super day invites on here... not sure if they are mostly targets or what.
First rounds for Ivies and super target are definitely starting already. But I agree for non targets you still got time. Banks hiring process is slow af compared to other industries so you always have time. Back when I applied for intership I got a call like 4 months after I applied I was completely unprepared.

Have you networked at all with these places or just resume drop?
I have networked with people at 70% of the banks I applied to through high school, university Alumni. I didn’t explicitly ask them to push my resume through but I did notify them that I applied. Most of my networks are analysts which may limit their power.
Gotcha, just making sure that you didn't just toss an application and expect a response...I wouldn't worry too much then, just keep waiting and maybe network a little more as that can't hurt

Don't panic, just do what you do. An unlucky period can be very long, but don't give up. If you seek - you will find!

Never really understood the broad generalization of "Non-target." If you go to a school like Rice, UT, or Carnegie Mellon then, technically speaking, you go to a non-target. However, these are incredible schools and if you have a high GPA then you are in fantastic shape. Those schools are a lot different than a "non-target" like Farfield or Elon. Go to a non-target like that and your chances are on life support no matter what your GPA is.
I agree. Also it's all very relative. Rice and UT may not be top choices in some parts of the country, but they are two of the biggest targets for Houston banks.

I went to UIUC. More detail might allow people to help you. There’s a big difference from Michigan to an UIUC to an IL St.

Saw you only networked with analysts. It's not time to panic but analysts can only do so much. VPs can get you into the interview. I'm at a nontarget too and so far the only interviews I've landed were at banks where I networked with VPs as well as analysts.

Don't just network with alumni.
when you "network" with an analyst, you should ask to be referred to their VP...and then you ask the VP for career advice (analysts haven't been there long enough to help you)...and after the VP gives you career advice, regurgitate it back with your spin, and THEN say that the VP has really inspired you, and then ask the VP for a chance to interview.

No I’d assume it still requires a bit of networking. But target networks are usually built in with many alumni connections
