extra shoes/flip flops/sandals (if you can get away with them at the office) i'm just interning but i'm occassionally here at night and for me wearing the same pair of shoes all day gets tiring...pop on a different pair or if its late enough, my flip flops, and i feel relaxed
When I was an i-banking analyst, I had:
A pillow and blanket A full drawer of food -- gum, chocolate and almonds for energy, microwave popcorn, et cetera. iPod charger, Blackberry charger. Deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, scented soap (that long shower at 7 AM after an all-nighter and before a long day can be a lifesaver) Jolt gum, caffeine pills Sneakers and socks (for running up and down stairs to raise my heart rate and keep me awake) A sweater for when my body temperature drops after not enough sleep or food. Visine, Zantac, Advil A sports bra in case I can get to the gym A soft t-shirt in case I can steal an hour in the analyst lounge for sleeping.
extra cuttlery. Napkins, etc. You never know when the delivery guy misses something (or when your MD misses something). Extra soda and water in the filing cabinet. Sometime you're too busy/too lazy to go to the pantry. Eyedrops.
Tide to go. I swear by it. Blackberry charger/cell phone charger. The motorola razr shares the same one as the blackberry which makes my life easy.
Guys, spare tie in case of a meeting.
It also depends on where you work. I'm on a trading floor, so space is a premium. If you're in cubes, you've got a lot more space for stuff.
