Too generic for deferred programs?
I am a senior at a Top 20 school (Vanderbilt/Northwestern/Michigan/etc) with a 3.95 GPA in Computer Science & Finance. I got a full ride to my college, and I'll be working for McKinsey after graduation. I'm also an Indian American male (I'm a US citizen) and I got a 740 on the GMAT.
Is my profile too generic for 2+2 at HBS and GSB? There's plenty of people going to MBB with good grades. I do have some interesting extracurriculars, but nothing super impressive. Also, if it's worth me applying, should I try to raise the GMAT given the Indian American demographic?
You should 100% apply. I had almost the exact same profile as you (Got a full-ride to my state flagship, 3.9+ GPA, headed to MBB after graduation, 740 GMAT) and got into HBS 2+2 as a straight white male. There's really no risk in applying; and since you have already taken the GMAT and have a competitive score, I don't see any downside. You have a shot - it will just come down to essay execution.
