Top BB IBD vs Vista Equity out of college

I am currently a sophomore with an IBD offer from a top BB (think MS/GS/JPM) at a top group. I currently have a final round interview for my junior year through their program and will most likely be able to even push to like a top TMT group for my junior year. I've already accepted the offer and will be signed onto it. I was also accepted into one of Vista Equity's programs which is a pipeline for their recruiting for junior summer. I will also be recruiting for other top PE firms junior year but am curious to know if I should stay in BB or should I go for Vista/BX/KKR for next year. Also, does anyone know how many interns at Vista convert to full-time?

Consider Austin vs New York. Also, consider if PE is what you want to do in the long run.

Not a question. Go to any of the aforementioned pe programs before you do another day of banking. Dw about geography in the case of Vista; analysts from top banking groups all shoot to place at these firms during on-cycle. It's already an easy choice but if you have an interest in tech / software it's an absolute no brainer to choose Vista.

Was in a similar position in the past, although it was with a top EB. I tried to imagine living in Austin and decided, fuck that, I would much rather be in NYC, and I'm not gonna live in a place I wouldnt enjoy just because it's PE (at the analyst level you do the same bullshit). Also personally had little interest in software, so really didnt see the point. Just went through on-cycle and landed generalist MF PE in NYC.

At the end of the day, it's a personal decision. Which city do you like more? What are your industries of interest (seems like you like tech)? Does your BB group/university alum place well into MF PE? Are you really willing to go through on-cycle (it's a shitshow)?

My EB had a good track record of people going to MF/UMM PE and I went to a target, so for me, going to banking in NYC from undergrad made the most sense (unless it was BX/KKR NYC).
