Only if you play lacrosse/hockey.
Also, those are decent numbers, it looks like Jefferies recruits heavily, but it's difficult to say how many of those kids are working in IBD without looking at Linkedin. You have a shot, but those schools don't send dozens to IBD like some semi-target schools do.
What are some semi-targets?? I cant get into any ivies, and Duke/Vandy/Gtown are probably out of reach. Any advice of some good semi-targets?
If Vandy is out of reach for you then Mich, UVA, UCBerkeley would be a long-shot, but worth a try.
Schools with really good placement include: Kelley, McCombs, and Boston College.
There were a decent amount of kids from LACs in our SA class, but almost all of them played a sport (Lacrosse/Hockey for males and soccer/field hockey/lacrosse for females.)

IMO don't do it. I go to a school that is consistently in the top 10 US News rankings for LACs and while I am doing fine for myself, it's a shit ton of extra work that you have to put in. If I had known consulting/IB was definitely what I wanted to pursue I probably would not have attended where I go now. I mean I'm doing fine, I have had a number of interviews and an offer in my hand already but it's just a huge pain honestly. Maybe it's different at the very top with Amherst/Williams but for me, I would not recommend it.
That said, I have enjoyed my time immensely at my school. I love my professors/classes and the friends I have made. So for that I am thankful but it can definitely make things difficult for breaking into these industries.
How do most students from top LACs go about getting interviews?? Since most BBs dont recruit, do you have to rely on alumni connections/networking?

Emory looks good on paper.. 35% in finance, starting salary 70k+10k so it would be safe to assume these arent BO/MO positions right?
So the only difference between a target and a non/semi is on-campus recruiting?? and typically, only those with very high gpa's from targets would benefit from that.. is that correct?

Also, when you get out to networking, you will find more people from target on the Street, lesser from semi-target, least from non-target.
So why all the fuss about Target/Non-target?!! Most college students will NOT be able to get a 3.7+ from a top university, so campus recruitment is essentially useless for most people below that threshold,correct?
That's not true. Target/semi-target guys with some networking with most recent alumni analysts can easily land interviews even with a 3.2 - 3.5 GPA. I am telling this from experience.
Don't try to diminish the value of OCR. It really makes things easier, even if you aren't able to figure how. It's kinda simple, yet complicated--which obviously differs from case to case.
