Top Megafund PE back office, what would be the perfect next move?
I recently started a new role (Backoffice) 6 month ago at a top PE firm. What would be the best exit?
I graduated 2018 with a finance degree from a state school.

I appreciate any advice.
Any thought at all?
Perfect move for what? You have listen no goals...
lower cost of living area
Network the shit out of that position and trying to move to front office or they gonna spit you out in a few years with cheaper and younger back office monkeys.
It's literally impossible to move to front office as almost everyone from harvard etc.... what would be the best option moving forward
Honestly, I would try to leverage the brand name on a MM fund or transition someplace where you can grow. Deal experience is key and you are not getting that right now.
In response to the Harvard thing: College brand name is very important at companies that are managing other peoples money, that is just how it is. If I am an LP looking to invest in a fund; do I want Ivy league or state school kids managing my money? 9 times out of 10 I will go with ivy. Do you really think that a student at "insert prestigious college here" learns more about finance/investment/accounting/strategy than you would at a state school. You use the same textbooks (in most cases) as the ivy's and many professors at these states schools come from these prestigious colleges. College is what you make of it. You can get a top class education from some lower tier schools if you put in the work.
Consider an MBA and see if you can get into banking or a MM fund.
Those are my thoughts.
