Top Schools that will offer FULL TUITION merit based only (no financial need)
Ok, so im brand new here. I need some help because i am absolutely clueless about colleges and the like so bear with me...
I am a senior. Priority deadlines for most colleges is in 1 month from now so i need to figure out which colleges to apply to.
Heres a little about me:
35 ACT
4.0 (perfect) GPA
Class rank 1 out of over 700
National merit scholar semifinalist (apying for finalist)
What top business schools (i want to major on economics) will offer me at least full tuition? I do not qualify for need based, so it's strictly merit based. I need to limit it to 4 or 5 to apply to. Application fees arent free after all :) also, im in Utah, so one of my top choices is BYU Marriott school of business. I know they r no. 1 in accounting, but im most likely not doing that since im very interested in economics. Does anyone have any opinions on this school?
Last thing... Does my undergraduate school matter if I plan on getting a masters in finance from a top school (like Oxford or Princeton)? What jobs would a master qualify me for that I couldn't apply to with just a bachelors in economics? (i dont know much about specific careers in finance, but im interested in anything finance related. IB is a no for me as I will not work as a slave :/ i was interested in sales and trading but I hear it's a Bachelors only job (no masters required))
yes undergrad school matters for masters admission (a lot). Can't speak to your other problem though.
Most school's have a merit based full ride. It's obviously extremely competitive, but finding schools that offer it isn't an issue.
Also, no one cares about "sub-rankings" like #1 in accounting, political science, etc. Don't use that in your selection criteria; it's a marketing ploy by the universities. Not a knock on BYU; many institutions do it (sometimes just individual programs at a school will advertise this stuff).
There are tons of schools that would offer you a full ride with your profile. Look at top 25 private schools like Vandy, USC, WUSTL, Notre Dame, etc
But you should really be looking to go to an ivy if possible, it will open up far more doors for your masters admissions than a BYU degree or a USC degree (coming from a USC grad)
