Toronto IBD ---> London IBD lateral: Is it possible?

Some background:
- I have UK citizenship, born and raised in Canada
- I've recently started FT at a Big 5 Canadian Bank in IBD
- Attended a Canadian target (Ivey/Queens)
- My SO's career is pointing her towards London, and we're hoping to move there within a year or two

Aside from transferring internally in my bank, is it possible to lateral to another bank in London from Toronto? Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks!

Given that you don’t need visa sponsorship, it shouldn’t be too hard. Some recruiters are specialized in moving people from continental Europe to London. You may hit them up with your plans, I’m sure they’d be happy to help you move across the Atlantic. Just beware that there is quite some uncertainty around Brexit and to some extent how late in the cycle we are. Some banks had much lower return offer rates this summer so they may also be more frothy come lateral hiring.
