Toronto Trading Analyst --> Consulting?

Hi all,

I'm a trading desk analyst 6 months into FT. I'm looking to switch over into consulting this summer when recruiting usually happens. I've attached my resume; if anyone has any advice or comments on anything I would appreciate it.

My outlook on the state of trading has diminished a lot over the past two years since I summered, and I really can't see the role existing in 10-20 years. At the same time, I'm starting to get more and more specialized into niche aspects of the work and don't see myself having any mobility or bargaining power (I see this with all the senior people I work with). No one I work with is really happy at all, everyone kinda feels stuck to their seat (both literally and figuratively).

I'm hoping consulting will set up well for an MBA down the line, where I can eventually settle into industry/find more meaningful work that I enjoy, instead of literally churning spreadsheets out and booking trade tickets 13h/day non-stop.

I had internships in both consulting and industry, I went for trading thinking that the money would make me happy, and I realize now that that isn't the case at all. I got the offer to return from my trading internship pretty early, and was worried a few really bad marks earlier in university would hurt me from shopping around elsewhere (F's related to medical stuff, though my overall and more recent academic record is top notch imo).

I have a few jr MBB friends who I know would pass on my resume. I'm guessing right now it's a bit too technical and not consultingy enough, which I will work to fix.

The main thing I'm worried about is switching out too early - by the end of the summer I'll only have been in my role for 12 months. That said, out of 10-15 interns my year, I'm the only one still with the bank trading (about 5 ppl are still there in research/sales)... so the attrition isn't that abnormal, but it'll probably be hard to convey that and not get dinged.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

EDIT: Happy to share my resume if anyone's interested, just didn't want it floating around. Summary: 6mo of being a trading analyst with legit responsibility, previously a trading desk intern, large corp fin intern, boutique consulting intern + really strong academics.
