Trader job opportunities for Baruch Student

Hi. I am a senior student studying Finance at Baruch College. My gpa is 3.1 (ik, not that great), and I want to become a trader/portfolio manager, because this type of job involves more of your natural intelligence and vision of market rather that internships and job experience. There is no solid educational program relevant to trading at Baruch. What are the best ways to prove my trading skills? What could be considered an exceptional trading skill for the hedgefund employers? I've heard that returns on portfolio are rarely considered due to the luck factor.
I would appreciate any advice to help me get out of my horrible position
