Trading Floor Tour
If you got invited to tour a BB trading floor as an undergrad, what would you do to ensure you made a good impression? How much understanding should my questions convey?

Don't try to be smart but sociable. Don't be a nuisance to those traders, who're already having headaches from their work. Besides, its only a tour. Hang out with ppl whenever you can.
Hang-out sessions have been planned into this tour for me. Maybe I shouldn't be making this a pressure situation, but it seems like one to me.
Typical trading floor tour:
Haha, it's actually an electronic trading floor, but thanks for the video (it's a shame open outcry has gone away, it looks like it was good fun).
Just be enthusiastic, interested... don't be a douche bag, ask the right questions at the right time... use common sense depending on the environment. Also depends on which trading floor, each one has their own culture.
wow, that was robert downey jr. talking shit in the video. with the problems he had, he is the last one that should have been making comments like that.
Worthwhile to go on trading floor tour (Originally Posted: 12/15/2012)
I have been invited to tour one of the banks that come to my school for ocr. The tour would be over winter break, and seems like a great networking opportunity. The thing is, I would have to drive about 6 hours or so each way, and to be honest i'm not really that interested in going into banking post graduation. I really want to go into corporate finance through an FLDP.
Would it be smart to go on this tour just for the networking even though banking isn't my intended career?
I would go. I thought about not going to something like this just last week, and it ended up being an awesome networking opportunity/they realized how long it had taken me to get there.
How did the tour go? What kind of stuff did they talk about, and how much time did you have to network with people on your own? I see these tours being set up kinda like an informal interview
Also, do you think I would have much of a chance to network with people outside of banking or S&T.
Go.There are a lot of people who would drive a lot more than 6 hours for the opportunity.
