Trading questions!
I'm not very familiar with the trading world as much as I am with the corporate finance side of things!
Could anyone tell me if any of the BB in the U.S and Canada have Prop trading desks? what kind of route would you have to take to become a trader and how long would it take?
Also , the term Sales and trading associate, does it relate to the salesmen of the bank or also the traders?

most if not all bb have (or I should probably say had after what Obama is trying to do) prop desks. They are usally a smaller parts of the banks trading operations but during good markets, generate substantial amount of profits. Then again, if Obama has his way, prop trading at banks will be a thing of the past.
