Trading to PM at HF

Hello,
I’m an undergrad student trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I interned at a HF freshman year and realized it’s my end goal but I understand that it’s really important to get sell side training and exp first. I’m leaning towards trading as I did a summer last year at a lower tier MM and figured out I like the thrill of it + I don’t see myself working IB hours and found that I fit in better with market people personality wise. So I guess my question is, is it possible to make it as a PM after starting in trading? I know market making and prop are very different but at the same time there are always prop positions hiding in the books so I guess there are similar skills.
