Transferring from London BB to Sydney and back again?
Analyst 1 at a BB in London. Hoping to move to Sydney for a couple of years when my analyst stint is over, but eventually would want to return to the UK. Does anybody have experience of such a move or can recommend any headhunters? Currently in a HC coverage team and would be interested in staying in IB, PE or potentially a HF.
Transfer internally is probably your best bet in the absence of a visa. Plenty of people do make the move
Curious, does the pay change accordingly with the location, so if u internally transferred from UK to US you would be paid more (albeit at the cost of worse lifestyle)
don't know, I'd assume you'd just get a local contract so you'd be paid as an Australian/US analyst/associate so better/worse depending on location and COL. I don't think that doing this for pay should be the motivation, it's a one off opportunity to do something truly unique in your life.
Does anybody know which headhunters are best to approach in Sydney?
What type of M&A do they do in Australia? Kangaroo farm acquisitions?
Actually yes, the roo-industry coverage team is one of the top performing groups at our firm. I mean it's not just roo's, they specialise in all sorts of agri commodities trading and M&A, but roos are probably up there in terms of deal frequency. Yields on roo farming have been going through the roof lately as the nation's principal food source and form of transportation in these times of crisis.
Shouldn’t be too difficult, I am sure there will be people in the Sydney office in your BB who want to come to London.
Would not recommend you try to move through HHs, that is going to be an uphill battle. Just try to do a 3rd year within your same bank in the Sydney office. Most BBs have pretty good internal mobility programs for 3rd year analysts, so it shouldn't be all too challenging.
What's wrong with HH in Sydney? or is it just oppurtunities are few and far between?
Is needing a visa / sponsorship quite prohibitive?
