Transferring From Non-Target?

Hey WSO, just needed some advice on my college situation.

I'm currently a sophomore at a non-target but top 50 school with a very high GPA and standardized test scores (not fantastic high school GPA). I don't hate my school that I'm currently at, but I'm very driven and career-focused and really want to ensure that I get an IB job out of undergrad.
I was thinking I might as well apply to some target schools (for either next semester or next year) to see if I can get in there which would make it easier on me for the recruiting cycle.

My main concerns are how this transferring would coincide with the IB recruiting cycle, how the credits would transfer, what schools I should be targeting, how many schools to apply to, what my chances are like at these schools, and if it's even worth it to transfer if I do get in.

Would love to hear other stories of people who transferred from non-targets or any advice that you guys have, and can provide more detail if need be in a PM.

Thanks!

Use common data set to look at a school's official data. Also something to keep in mind is having 2 solid rec letters from professors who know you well. One more thing is to keep in mind pre-req courses needed complete before getting admitted and attending the new school. I just transferred from a non-target to target and applied to about 15 target/semi-target schools. Lmk if u need help with anything else

Im not sure which target/semi target schools would allow you to transfer for spring. I looked into it once and remember seeing that most of them didnt allow transfers till fall semester. I think Cornell, UVA??, and I forgot the rest allowed for spring transfers. Like mentioned above I decided to not waste my time/effort into trying to transfer as I thought my time could be better spent focusing on breaking in from my non target.

Like mentioned above you dont need to transfer to break in. If you transfer for the fall semester, recruiting at this point has already wrapped up for most banks so kinda pointless. If you transfer for the spring semester you will be competing with all the kids at your school when you dont even have a gpa, you also going to have to adjust to your new environment/other stuff.

There are a lot of benefits for transferring to a target/ semi target, but I wouldnt do it just because you want to increase your chances of breaking in. If you were a freshman this would be different, but unfortunately due to the recruiting timeline, transferring at this point for recruiting would be pointless.
