I am currently a AM intern (target school) at a very well known institutional fund manager (7B+ AUM). I am really liking my job, but long term I see myself working more in real estate acquisitions or development. As you mentioned, the AM works closely with the acquisitions team, but if I attempt to transition to the acquisitions team my fear is that I won't get a return offer. How should I approach a transition to acquisitions at an early stage of my career?

Any thoughts?

Thank you.
