Transitioning to Research - Advice Needed

I'm currently a DCM analyst at a BB and I'd like to transition into buyside research. I don't know anyone in research so I was hoping to get some guidance through this forum.

Does anyone have advice on what I should try to highlight in my resume?

Any thoughts on how difficult the transition will be given I don't have specific industry expertise or any ER experience?

Any help is appreciate. Thanks!

 

Hmm... how many years out are you? I've never worked in capital mkts so don't have a good grasp on the day-to-day, but do you have industry coverage or are you a generalist? MBA may be the best option since it seems like a fairly sizable transition. Not necessarily the only way to go tho depending on how long you've been working...
