Transporting Ties

Strange question.

I am moving to Europe from the states, and have a collection of some very nice ties that I don't want to get effed up in bags while traveling.

How would you guys go about moving your ties?

There's a variety of options on the market for this exact situation.

On the cheaper end are items like this little number that are soft-shell cases for multiple ties.

Also consider this entry from Tumi if you're big on name brands in luggage.

This one from Tumi comes with complimentary monogramming.

Brooks Brothers if you're trad.

Or, if you really don't feel like shelling out, the easiest way to transport ties safely is to roll them. They're compact and won't get mashed or wrinkled unless you toss them into your case next to a dictionary. Tuck one or two into each of your dress shoes for added safety.

Best of luck with the move, you're a familiar name on here so I presume you're relocating for work. Hope all goes well.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

You could probably take a pvc pipe, about the thickness of a paper towel tube, and wrap all all of your ties around it and secure it in the midst of some T-shirts.
I'm sure when the TSA seems a pipe in your bag that nothing bad will happen.
