In a grad role, 0 travel is standard, unless explicitly stated as part of a stint abroad.

If you luck out, potentially will get to go along to conference/lunch meeting.

Grad roles in these places aren’t great - pay your dues elsewhere

in these houses esp at graduate level is around 0%. however, this might change depending on what type of trader you are.. refinery traders tend to visit their refineries throughout the year, just to give an example

paper traders don't travel at all, at least in my firm

if you like travelling i think origination might be the best bet for you

If you actually get to the trading seat there are "networking" meetings and various industry events almost every month.  For example, New Orleans for xmas parties, Rodeo in Calgary, PIRA in NYC, RMOGA in Brek/Denver, shit all over Houston and Texas, IP week in London.  That's really even just the networking within the trading community.  You can travel and see other companies or counterparties often as well.

I am not on a big desk and I travel maybe 2 times per month.

It may not be called PIRA anymore, since I think they were acquired by Platts, but its basically one of the bigger oil data/research provider conferences.  They get a pretty good mix of physical and financial traders in one place - banks usually have a bunch of events planned around this for bigger clients that are in town.

I am not NYC based, but I usually make one or two trips up a year to see some of the NY or CT based physical shops, as well as some of the bank counterparties (and its just fun to get up there on the work dime).
