Travel to Europe
Thoughts on this idea: I'm going to be a senior this year. completed and received a return offer from my internship this summer. my school is completely virtual this semester so will be saving money on housing/food as I'll be staying with parents. a couple of friends in a similar boat to me have been thinking about going to europe to travel around in late september and october/november. since all classes are virtual anyways it doesn't really matter where I am, and I'm taking a pretty light courseload anyways. how stupid and/or braindead of an idea does this sound given how the world/Europe looks right now with respect to COVID?
European countries are still closing some borders here and there, limiting free movement to reduce the spread of the virus. Would recommend graduating early and traveling in April-June before you join banking.

Otherwise you could do what you plan on doing but have a ‘base location’ in one country - surely on the coast in France/italy/spain, and plan some outings from threre that may get cancelled should countries close borders

How do you intend to travel if Americans are not allowed into Europe? Please do not try to skirt using whatever loopholes may exist.
i mean there are a few countries in SE & E Europe (croatia, macedonia, serbia, belarus, etc) that seem to be allowing americans in w/ proof of a test, but yea it'd probably be irresponsible. i guess i'm just being very optimistic and hoping that in 2 months some restrictions will have been lifted
From what I've heard, all European countries have forbid US travelers of flying in except if they have multiple passports. Let's say you were to get into one of those countries, I highly doubt any bordering country would let you in. Even some European countries are starting to ban people from bordering nations because of Corona cases.
There are no loopholes from what I have discussed with colleagues and friends who work in the security space.
edit: to clarify, the only loophole would be multiple passports, i.e. if s.o. holds citizenship or permanent residency in a EU country, that person would be legally allowed to "return" to that country. the consensus is though to refrain from "gaming" the system during a pandemic.

a friend moved from NYC to Lake Tahoe. Nice views and decent lifestyle, but he did say he is annoyed by the time difference. (he is still WFH based on NYC time)

Currently in Switzerland taking classes from the US. There are loopholes if you look hard enough. Also no, I don’t have a trust fund and I’m not rich.
