Treasury Funding Trader Career Path and Exit Ops
Hi all,
I'm currently working as an analyst in the Liquidity Management Division of the Treasury at a US BB. My current responsibilities involve a lot of work with HQLAs and the ISLT with exposure to 5G and LCR stuff.
As a result, I often interact with Funding Traders that sit in Treasury which has piqued my interest in what they do, the sort of comp they receive, how I could potentially move there, and what sort of career paths being a Funding Trader could provide. I have a few acquaintances in my network that are Funding Traders and plan to reach out to them in the next couple of weeks but wanted to see what anyone here had to say first.
Looking for input on:
- Potential career path after being a Funding Trader (maybe in terms of IB as well since that is still an interest of mine)
- General day to day responsibilities / work of a funding trader
- General exit ops for the role
- General comp structure.
Thanks in advance!
