Treasury or FP&A?treas
Hey all,
looking for some advice. I am nearing completion of a finance leadership development program at a growing & respected regional bank. I have two options once the program concludes: 1) join the FP&A team doing your typical financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, and line of business forecasting and 2) join our Treasury team in a new position that is responsible for liquidity stress testing, liquidity risk management, balance sheet funding strategies and managing contingent funding sources like the FED discount window.
anyways, currently split 50/50 between the two. anyone have any thoughts on which field/role would typically have more vertical visibility? also curious which role might involve more strategic thinking/development and better career opportunities down the road.
thanks guys.
