TripleTree - thoughts?
Hi everyone,
Curious to know how TripleTree is viewed on the street. Would also be great to hear about their comp, exit opps, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Career Resources
I have a friend who works there - he loves it.
Pay is competitive I know that for sure, definitely market based. 1st year salary is like 85k I believe, maybe 90.
They have a great rep too, tons of smart kids that go through there, then leave to a bigger better bank or jump to the buy-side. Great spot to be though out of school that’s for sure, PLUS MN has a great Cost of living.
Just make sure you are knowledgeable about Healthcare sector
That's great to hear. In terms of exit opps, when you say bigger better bank - do you mean BB/EB's or LMM? Same question for buy-side. Additionally, I remember seeing that most of their analysts tend to be from state colleges or very small, less known banks, why is this the case?
Because it’s not as prestigious a place and no one wants to live in Minnesota. It’s a place to start your career if you can’t get a break at one of the big guys, and need a year to regroup. Just stay there a year and try to lateral as an analyst 1 or 2 at a real bank.
I mean you can definitely work at TT for a year then lateral to a bulge bracket I’m sure.
This is because they just recruit locally, so like Minnesota schools, or Midwestern.
Think they want to keep that Midwestern value strong within their culture.
I’m sure the way to get in is by networking your way in, probably having a strong connect on the inside would help I’m sure.
How are hours/ culture?
Bump
Bump. Would be great to hear.

Yeah?
Good rep in MM healthcare. If you like living in Minnesota, that's a plus too. Most wouldn't want Minnesota though. Firm seems cool. Turned interview down because I accepted another offer but seems like a decent enough firm that you could lateral from.
Just curious, what firm did you accept over this? No need to say the exact name but just a range would be great.
UBS/DB/Jefferies
Also turned down TT for another firm, Wells Fargo
Bout to get MS for this, but I'll chime in. Minne banker here, so know the company well and have a few buddies there. Pay is street (if not above). 100/105/110. They had a killer year last year and was shocked to hear my friends stub (assuming he was top bucket). They play above their size, don't know why they are getting so much hate on here. Primarily play is HC services and HCIT. Great place to work but heard the NY office was a little more intense culturally. Hours are banking - ebs and flows but they are know to work their analysts hard.
Thanks for that input! Which firms would you say they are at the level of? Like Raymond James or Stifel or lower? Also, does the Minnesota location make it tough to exit to NY or SF?
Del
Very strong HCIT team.
I've heard their average deal size was 700Million+ this past year, pretty insane.
I was surprised to see how high they were on Factset too. Incredible! I think they also got a satellite office in NYC that's making strides. I wonder if that proximity to a bigger market helped.
Just be aware that they aren't leading a significant number of those. They're brought in behind BBs, EBs and even some MMs on quite a few, particularly of larger size.
If you want to specifically be in MN or HealthCare it’s a solid opportunity. If you don’t want either of those things it is not a good fit
I've heard their NY office is being grown out well too tho? Healthcare is definitely a fascinating industry nonetheless.
Yes, it was and that will probably continue post-acquisition. I have to imagine the turnover will start soon after bonus season though.
Bump - any updates?

Not sure how this will impact them in the long run. Heard from a friend that Capital One has provided them with quite a bit of autonomy, which was interesting to hear.
