Trump Works With Democrats To Raise Debt Ceiling Through Harveye

Trump has always hinted at working with the Democrats and on Wednesday he actually did it. He agreed with Democrats to attach over $7B of aid for Hurricane Harvey victims to the raising of the debt ceiling. In doing so, he stunned and upset the GOP. They had requested an extension on the vote of first 18 months and then 6 months. When both requests were rejected by the democrats, congress agreed to disagree. Now that Trump has sided with the Democrats, raising of the debt ceiling will most likely go through.

I think this is one example where Trump is effective in leading as "the outsider", since disaster relief is a pressing issue.

Was this a good move by Trump? What are the consequences of being disloyal towards the GOP, in regards to Trump's proposed laws on taxes and deregulation of the financial industry? What are your thoughts on the debt ceiling being raised? Is there another choice?

Holding the debt ceiling hostage is stupid and a big reason I didn't want Cruz to be President. Of course those losers called Republicans will bitch. Can't pass a healthcare bill but want to shut the govt down. Fuck em.
