Trying to leverage what I have now or do I need more?

I'm an intern in NY for a commercial RE firm currently, I graduate in the spring from a non-target as an economics major, and now I'm looking for FT or any spring internships or another internship for that matter. I've made a lot of connections in my short time in NY as an exchange student from California and I know connections are important but i'm lacking in experience. At the end of it, I'll have great letters of recommendation if I ever need them, but how do I leverage what I know/learned now for full time opportunities? I had to do huge research presentation on economic trends pertaining to retail trends and its decay which was great, but should I shoot for things more on the real estate side? if so, like what? or can I use what I've learned to cross over to ER/IB/ Wealth Management/any thing else. If not, should I try and squeeze in another internship in something more related to that side?
