Two IB internships

Hi,

I’m currently a sophomore at a non-target. I currently have a spring internship at a boutique that is expected to run in the summer, and I’m in the process of deciding to accepting a summer offer at another regional boutique. The second offer is a lot better (more deal flow and financial modeling).

I was wondering if you've heard kids take two IB internships at once. If I pull it off I think I’ll be in great shape for 2021 recruiting season.

Wanted to your thoughts though.

Sorry for lazy writing I’m in a rush.

I was in your shoes last summer - so totally understand. I thought having two internships at the same time would make me look solid with (i) strong exposure to deals and (ii) decent time management skill. I get it, but I stick to just one for the quality > quantity reason. For me, I would rather commit all the time at a shop and win return offer rather than trying to manage both - which eventually leads me to be exhausted and, even worse, fail to pull my best in both of them. Well - up to you. You know your situation the best.

For the summer, you want to make sure you position yourself to win a return offer that you could leverage. If you think the regional firm is a better known name and offers legit experience, I think it might be wise to fully commit to it (quality > quantity).

Of course do your current internship until then and decide later. They can’t do much if you end up going to a better firm.
