Two virtual internships this summer. Can I do both?

I cannot give away too much information as I want to remain anonymous but I have two strong internships this summer and both have been moved online. I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on doing both of them?

What is the workload likely to be in WFH situations?
What are my chances of getting caught?

Mainly from the financial perspective. One pays top of the street but the other pays poorly but has a far better rep

No judgement here, I don't blame you for looking to get maximum upside. A word of caution though, unless both internships are completely unrelated or in different market locations, you're risking being found out. Wall St is a smaller world than you think, and people talk. In the off chance your name is brought up between two friends who work at both firms, your goose is cooked. Also, if the two firms are in a related industry/market location, you risk having your name come up on an email chain circulating at both firms if you get staffed on business in common.

While these risks may be remote if the industries are less related, the consequences for your career could be catastrophic. Take on whatever level of risk you're comfortable with, but know the consequences.

Good point. They are very closely related in the finance world actually. In which case I will just go with one of them. Thanks a lot

To add to that, in theory you could get in some very hot situations legally if there was a clash of confidentiality between your two internships.

Definitely do not do this.

My issues, actually being able to do the work, Mrs. Doubtfire situation where you email the deliverable to the wrong bank...

Don't half ass two things, whole ass 1 thing.

Hedging incase one was cancelled due to Corona and did not want to be without something. Did not receive confirmation from both until this week.

I did two internships at the same time one summer, one was a search fund internship and the other was as an analyst intern at a boutique M&A shop. A word of caution, this only leads to confusion as people look over your resume. When interviewing at different IBs, I had more than one Analyst scratch his head and candidly ask me why I did this and what my motive was. In the end, it did not help me get a job anywhere, led to confusion as people reviewed my resume (I am sure many places thought I was too incompetent to input the right dates despite saying explicitly that the two internships were concurrent), and made me come off as a bit of a tryhard / weirdo. Oh and the best part? I wanted to kill myself every day and my weekends were 9-5 minimum. For context, I had a subpar GPA from a nontarget so I was looking for any competitive edge. This wasn't it.
