Typical Hours

Am thinking of a move to NYC, and wondering what typical hours are for a hedge fund analyst back east? Obviously the market opens later, but I'm wondering how early analysts get in and how late they stay. I'm not talking about the young people a few years out of school who burn the midnight oil, or places that have an abnormal obsession with face time. Just the usual hours for a more senior analyst / PM at a hedge fund.

If it's helpful, I've worked in trading in San Francisco (typical hours 4:15 am to 2-2:30 pm) and also as an analyst here in Los Angeles (typical hours 6-5).

Thanks!
M

I get in around 8:00-8:30am and read reports/emails etc until our all-hands meeting around 9:00am. Usually in anywhere from 6:00-8:00pm depending on what's going on/how many ideas I'm working with the senior analysts and PM on. If things are crazy I'll be later but that's rare, and I've never stayed past 12:00. Do some work (mostly report reading/model building) from home on the weekends.

Usually I work 9am to 9pm, 6 days a week, but I work for myself so if I want to take a break I can. :)
Need an intern? I'm trying to move to Philly haha

Intern'd at a medium sized fund in NYC and traders worked 7am - market close. analysts worked 7am - 7/8pm. pm worked 830am - 5pm.

mind you im sure the pm's were going to dinners, keeping alert of whats going on overnight, etc.
