U-M Ross vs IU Kelley for Undergrad
Apologizing for formatting, on Mobile.
Hey all, high school senior here looking for opinions. I’m looking to go into IB and long term pursue entrepreneurship. These are my options so far.
U-M Ross - Great school, I love everything about it but expensive. I’m still waiting to hear back from scholarships but right now I would graduate with around 215k in loans (yikes)
IU Kelley - Awarded full ride scholarship along with special networking opportunities. I know the workshop is hit or miss but I feel that being in this scholarship class will be good. This is currently what I’m leaning towards.
UIUC Gies (in-state) - No real feelings about this. Would graduate around 72k in loans.
Still waiting to hear from Georgetown, Wharton, Notre Dame, and Columbia.
.
While Michigan is definitely better than IU, I would have a hard time turning down a full ride for 215k. That being said, wait on the rest of the schools.
And more importantly, where do you fit in better? This is not emphasized enough. If you just vibe more with the either school, then going to the other is always a bad choice.
Take IU Kelley and don't look back. While Michigan Ross is undoubtedly a tier better than IU Kelley, the top students at both schools place fairly similarly in IB (ex. Evercore, Moelis, PJT, etc). The one caveat is you'll have more representation across top firms at Ross, but will see Kelley students there.
This 100%. Any BB/EB you name nowadays will have someone from IU and if you're a top student, the opportunities will be there for you regardless.
